Our Founders Seaside Wedding
I found Maxx, the love of my life, on Bumble. As someone who is traditionally ‘old school,’ I can’t believe I’m saying that! I had just moved to LA from New York and was looking to meet new friends. I came across Maxx’s profile and instantly thought I’d love hang out with someone like her. Effortlessly cool, great style, and looked fun. I sent her a very harmless DM asking if she wanted to hang out as I was looking for new friends. She responded, ' You look cool, but I’m so busy building a house, work, family, etc.’ I set out and made it my life’s mission to get her to hang out with me.
That was six years ago, and now we can’t imagine our life without the other.
Tell us about your day…
Where did you get married? Saint Barth’s in the French West Indies.
How did you pick your spot? I’m a Caribbean gal at heart. The island has always held an extraordinary place in our hearts. I can’t explain it in words but rather in feelings. When you step off the puddle jumper, everything seems to melt away (including the sweat running down your back) and fade into the intense sun, the smell of salt, and the excitement of knowing you will spend a week in paradise. From the first time we visited, we both fell in love and promised each other we’d move here one day.
When was your wedding? June 10, 2023, which had no special meaning before this year. Now, it’s my favorite date on the calendar.
Who was in attendance? Eighty-five people, which ended up being the perfect amount for our destination wedding. We spent lots of time with our guests across the four days.
Favorite Moment? It all feels genuinely like a dream like it didn’t happen. Everything was so blissfully easy, perfect, and filled with indescribable love and support. Everyone ended up in the pool donning either suits, gowns, or underwear. I never thought would happen at my wedding, but I’m glad it did.
